Patricia Brooks is Professor of Psychology at the College of Staten Island and the Graduate Center, CUNY.  Her broad research interests encompass: (1) language learning and development in children and adults; and (2) development of effective pedagogy to support diverse learners, especially with regards to the use of digital technologies to foster learning.  She is the co-author of two textbooks: Language Development (with Vera Kempe) and Teaching Psychology: An Evidence-Based Approach (with Jill Grose-Fifer and Maureen O’Connor), and co-editor of the Encyclopedia of Language Development (with Vera Kempe), Cognitive Development in Digital Contexts (with Fran Blumberg), and How We Teach Now: The GSTA Guide to Student-Centered Teaching (with former Graduate Center students Rita Obeid, Anna Schwartz, and Christina Shane-Simpson).  Since 2014, Dr. Brooks has served as the Faculty Advisor to the Graduate Student Teaching Association of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (APA, Division 2).
