I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Brooklyn College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. In my research, I examine sociocultural and ecological contexts of child development. Using a strengths-based perspective, I focus on how children’s early experiences in their everyday settings (home, neighborhood, school) vary by ethnicity/race, socioeconomic status, and gender, and relate to later educational outcomes.
